Hiking Palmer Park

These are from a few weeks ago. Sorry for the lack of updating, but last week both Ethan and I were out of commission, we both had really bad, long lasting colds.

This is on one of the trails in Palmer Park:

I'll try to do some more catch up within the next few days.

Boy's Best Friend

Ethan and Milo seem to be bonding more as friends this Spring, rather than just boy and dog that are forced to live together and behave. They have a game that they play in the backyard, both of them seem to understand the rules. Ethan will grab a stick:Then taunt Milo by waving it around in front of him saying "Sticky, sticky." Milo gets up and starts a game of chase:and then some tug-of-war:
usually winning in a matter of minutes. Ethan pouts for a second:
and then goes after him for some more:

This was a game of blast-off that Milo got caught up in:

Some Things to Share

Today when Ethan and I were driving home we came upon the cleanup stage of a car accident, there were police cars on either side with their lights on. Ethan promptly says to me "Mommy, wee-oohs!" "Yes Ethan those are police cars, their sirens make that noise, wee-ooh" "Yeah"

I think I have mentioned that one of Ethan's favorite games is hide-n-go-seek. He loves all aspects of this game, to be the hider, to be the seeker and to hide his toys and find them. If Ethan is hiding, and you are going to find him, he usually cannot stand the excitement of waiting in his spot. You'll walk into the room and say something along the lines of "Hmm where could Ethan be?" and he'll pop out and say "Is!" A few weekends ago, Saturdays are Papa days for Ethan, he was playing hide-n-go-seek with Papa, he told Papa where to hide (behind the couch) and then went to count. He counted (usually 1, 2, 3, 5) then said "comes" (ready or not here I come) walked into the room and proceeded to imitate all of us adults by putting his finger to his lip saying "hmm" and then pretended to look for Papa, all the time knowing he made him hide behind the couch.

Easter

Ethan had his first sleep over with Grandma and Papa on Saturday, Easter eve you may call it. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed their first solo night since he was in the NICU. Although he somehow got Grandma to sleep in the guest bed with him (cause it was probably very hard), he did well. The next morning, Easter, we arrived to find chocolate mustache man...

and super biker dude...
and the Easter bunny had come!! Ethan searched all over for his goodies (1 basket AND 2 gift bags!)
and he was successful in his search, with minimal help
The Easter bunny was very generous this year
Even bringing some weird bubbles that don't really pop
and a robot picture! (Have I mentioned Ethan LOVES robots? He tells me the robot watches him sleep and he has introduced him to his other robots)
After nap we headed over to Chuck and Diane's to enjoy a larger then usual family dinner, plus egg hunt. Ethan enjoys going down hills like he's on a roller coaster ride
The egg hunt was very successful, all 30+ eggs accounted for.And an additional 10 hidden especially for Ethan.
And my spoiled little man also got a fantastic gift from Jamie, one of his girlfriends.
Spud bunny!! Now friends with Mr. Potato Head at home
As I said, the dinner was larger then usual and Micheal, Bri, Ethan and myself were lucky enough to sit at the kids' table (hey we had our own butter). Everything was delicious!!
Afterward the four of us headed out for some frisbee

and the evening ended with some friendly ice-down-the-back tricks between Papa and Diane
Hope everyone else had a fantastic day!!

Easter Eggs

On Thursday Ethan and I dyed some Easter eggs
He really enjoyed dropping them into the dye and didn't really understand why he couldn't fish them out and do it again, so I got out some cups of water and his plastic eggs and he "dyed" them.

after that got boring (about 5 minutes) he just played with the water
He loves Easter eggs, Grandma has been helping him practice for the big Easter egg hunt. She'll "hide" about 10 eggs around the room and he gets his basket and finds them all. Hide n' go seek is one of his favorite games at the moment so the Easter egg hunt is perfect. So far, other then the wind, the weather seems to be cooperating for a hunt this afternoon. It will be the first time in 3 years that we actually hunt for Easter eggs on Easter, because of snow we usually postpone it to Mother's Day. I am borrowing my sister's camera (thank you again) until my new one arrives so I'll try to take lots of pictures.
