Outdoor Room

We have been spending much of our days outside. This spring in Colorado has not been a disappointment. The temps are warm, the ground, mostly, dry and green. The biggest downfall is that there are moths EVERYWHERE once the sun starts to set.

In the chill of the morning Lucy pops on her new, handmade hat. Courtesy of the crafty hands of Mrs. Elise Johnson (who we are looking forward to seeing in June).

Then we just spend the day. Playing, learning, experimenting, loving on each other.

An early strawberry!!

Sun protection is always on my mind, having my fair skinned babies out in the harsh Colorado sun. Unfortunately, keeping a hat on Lucy's head is a quite a battle

She knows she's cute

Success!!
Then, as if that's not enough, she makes me put it back on her head so she can do it again! Perfecting her skills.
Oh and she is not afraid of getting dirty!!
This was just the beginning, I put the camera away before she was really digging in the dirt. Should an eleven month old need multiple baths in a day?!

We spend some time inside still. Getting ready for our promising trip to Florida coming up.
All I need in my suitcase!!

Mother's Tea

Ethan's preschool puts on a few events during the school year, outside of his normal class. During January, the dad's get a spaghetti dinner and in April the mom's get a mother's tea. This past Thursday was mother's tea for Ethan's class.

It was a fantastic luau with a riveting performance from the kids. There was singing and dancing and then food and drinks (lemonade)
There was artwork the kids made, and surveys that they had answered

And of course, friends.
We have signed E up for preschool again next year, they call it Pre-K. He will be in school longer during the day but still just 2 days a week. Then, after that, Kindergarten! I'm still avoiding thinking about it, that he's only a year away from being in Elementary school.

Self Defense

Both of my children are advancing their skills in self defense. To my great relief, cause bully's scare the poo out of me when it comes to my kids.
Lucy is wandering around the house, growling. She's becoming the cutest little monster, I mean very intimidating monster. We think she is imitating Grandma and Ethan, they played monster chase the other day with her.

Ethan watched a video with a karate class in it and asked me how old he had to be to take karate. Papa had found a place that takes 4 year olds and Mike took him today for an orientation class. He LOVED it, didn't want to leave and even got his first belt, a white one. We're going to start taking him twice a week.
