I am so excited to be the proud new owner of a Nikon Coolpix digital camera. It's the same kind that I had before, that broke, which makes me nervous to have bought a new one, but I loved it so we'll give Nikon another shot. Here's some random pics I took trying to figure out different settings

What's the best thing about being a daddy to a son?
Is it the joy of watching and teaching the future generation all of your knowledge and life lessons?
Is it knowing your family name will live on and with it the possibilities are endless?
Is it sharing your love and adoration for someone that you helped create?
Or is it that you get to bring out all the toys from when you were a kid and play with them?Daddy decided to bring out some of his old toys from storage. Ethan is only allowed to play with them under daddy's supervision (most contain small parts). It was like Christmas for Ethan, he kept saying "more" then digging into the boxes. Michael was not much better might I add, tonight there was a full mini war reenactment with GI Joe's in the living room, complete with sound effects.
Trying out a remote control car for the first time
This is pure concentration on trying to figure out some GI Joe thinga majig (yeah I'm a girl)

Happy 4th of July
I'm positive that needed to be the first picture of this blog. One of Ethan's many faces that crack us up.
Michael and I both worked yesterday (the 4th) but lucky for us, the owner of La Z Boy decided it would be a great idea to call up a local radio station, do some on site advertising, and oh yeah saw apart 3 chairs. The demonstration is called 'La Z Boy vs. Brand X'. Michael and the warehouse manager went down to a local big name furniture company and bought 3 not La Z Boy recliners. Then on Saturday Michael got to saw them apart to show why a LZB is better. Once I get the link to the video I'll post it.Ethan and I stayed with Auntie for most of the first chair demo but had to head home due to Ethan REALLY wanting to help Daddy with the power tools. Once home he was quite content with his Little People Noah's Ark set.
After all his hard work (I should say play) Michael came home and we headed to my parents for dinner. Ethan took Daddy on a lovely walk with his truck. This included splashing and throwing rocks in various puddles from the rain earlier.
After dinner we just played at Grandma and Papa's. We knew we weren't going to do the fireworks this year, there's no way we could keep him up that late, plus the place that we normally go didn't have them due to budget constraints, it was nice not to have to worry about the time.
This morning we headed down to a park that's a few blocks away. It's got a great sand pit.

Bug Bite
One of the many wonderful things about living in Colorado is that we have very few bugs. Even though they are few, they still find us. Ethan woke up from his afternoon nap with this monster on his cheek:It didn't seem to bother him at all and the redness faded after a few minutes. We headed over to Target to run some errands and ended up with a brand new potty seat!
And then, by this evening the bug bite was all gone

Bonfire
This past Monday, Michael and I left Ethan with Grandma to go see Transformers 2 (which was awesome!) Not only did she babysit but she invited us over for dinner!

But Daddy, I Want to Drive It
This is a sequence of photos that I took on Monday. Ethan and Michael were playing with all of their cars when Ethan began obsessing about the steering wheel in this tractor. We could tell he was really trying to communicate something but could not understand. Finally he got his point across. He is trying to tell Daddy that he wants to get in the tractor and drive, literally sit in the little seat and turn the steering wheel. He was asking Daddy to help him get in. Poor Michael, laughing the entire time had to try to tell Ethan that there was no way for him to help him get in the tractor.

Father's Day 2009
What a wonderful day for Father's Day/the first day of summer. The weather here was gorgeous! A little hot but not unbearable. In the afternoon we headed over to Spring Spree, a festival held downtown at the beginning of summer. It's mostly booths set up to sell things or advertise but there's also a few shows, some live music and a kids area. Right when we walked into the area there was a show with Native American dancing, Ethan loved the drums
