Last Monday we helped Auntie move to her new apartment, which we like a lot more if our opinion matters. Ethan was a "huge" help, at least he wanted to be. He'd grab empty bags or help me with whatever I had, we'd lug it down the stairs and bring it to whoever was loading the car.
Once we got to her new place, which Ethan just kept saying "Auntie's place," he was kind enough to test out the tub
which passed inspection. By the time we made one trip it was time for us to leave for a nap, but not before a pizza break
He fell asleep within 5 minutes of being in the car and slept for 2 hours, one point for moving.
*Caution, nude photo to follow* (no it's not Michael)
Ethan loves bath time lately, lots of splashing and swimming and he discovered that he can lie on his back, which is awesome.
(Ha gotcha!)
Yesterday turned out to be an interesting day. When we were having fun we were really having fun, when we weren't, well, let's just leave it at that.

Thanksgiving 2009
While he didn't eat much, well actually nothing except for 2 rolls and a lot of jell-o, we had a great Thanksgiving. The day was perfect, we were all in a great mood and the weather was gorgeous. We had a few extra guests for dinner which made it more exciting. Before dinner Ethan kept himself, and daddy, occupied:
No, he doesn't need one for Christmas, or his birthday.

Toddler Time
How long has Ethan been a full blown toddler? A member of the not-so-terrible two's? To me he's still my baby, the one that needs me when he's sick or hurt, the one that needs protection from elements that are still too dangerous for him to comprehend, but he is certainly not a baby anymore.
He has been asking to turn his bed into a toddler bed, which we do, during the day and then transform it back into a crib at nap time and bed time. He likes to play with the tools while we are constructing the new shape of his bed, he also likes that Mommy and Daddy can sit in there with him.
He is now talking almost non stop, he formed a three word sentence (Daddy build airplane) at dinner the other night, and tells us about his day with Grandma and Papa. You can tell if something he is saying is important, if you're not looking at him he'll get his face right up to yours and repeat, repeat, repeat until he's sure you understand.
He enjoys taking walks, although they are usually very lengthy with all the exploring that needs to be done. And he doesn't mind wearing a hat, as long as it's his monkey hat.
His second birthday is next month and we're already gearing up for what promises to be a fun party!
The Countdown
Do you ever find yourself counting down to something? A vacation, a birthday, Christmas? I do, all the time, its actually a characteristic of mine that I have to remind myself to reign in. I believe in planning ahead and being excited about a future adventure but I find that if I don't calm down the urge to countdown, I lose the present. I don't live for today and I miss the exciting things that happen in the moment.
I've come a long way since planning our wedding where I was not only counting down the weeks till we said our vows and jetted off on a much needed honeymoon, I was counting down till graduation from college, where I was too busy looking ahead, I can't even tell you what classes I took my senior year. This week I got to celebrate the end of a countdown. If you hadn't noticed on the sidebar of this blog, we (my sister and I) have been anxiously waiting the movie New Moon, yes we're some of those people. Luckily for my sister, the released the movie for her birthday so we hauled ourselves over to the movie theaters around 5pm to get in line for a movie that started at 12:01am. The wait was not pleasant for the most part, although get a group of bored girls together that long and there's always fun memories that are made. The movie was fantastic (warning: if you're not a fan of Twilight, this one probably won't impress you either) but if you are, go!! Go twice even!
The next movie comes out this summer, but I think I'll wait a bit to start that countdown, there are too many other exciting (aka: more important) things to look forward to, and a whole lot of present to enjoy.

Snow, Baby, Snow
What kid doesn't love waking up to a few inches of fresh snow? Ethan is definitely not an exception, even on days when there's no snow he wakes up and yells "No!" Yesterday morning we woke up to about 2 inches of fresh snow and the kid went ballistic, he was even excited about putting on his hat and snow suit to go run around outside.
It was freezing out!! But we ran around the park and took a walk before we started heading home. Once Ethan realized that on the way home the wind was blowing in his face, I got to carry him the rest of the way, and he is not as light as he used to be.

Tree Climbing
My little monkey man has been attempting to climb anything he can lately, including climbing out of the play pen he sleeps in at Grandma's house (thank goodness not his crib yet), so we hooked him up with something more appropriate to hone his monkey like skills:
And he cried when we made him come down.
To follow up on not climbing out of his crib, I asked him today if he wanted me to turn it into a big boy bed and he said "Nope" so I asked do you want a baby bed to which he replied with an aggressive nod.
